1st September 2025 Windsurfing: The Manor-Felixstowe Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 20/25 Surf / Sea State: Big Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny start with heavy rain later Max Speed: 19.09 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 23 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Monday 1st September – Windsurf ***** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny and warm but rain late. Foil – 19.09 knot max, 17.61 knot ave., 14.63 knot hour, 15.94 knot mile, 37.30 km., 13.79 knot alpha. Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Naish Nalu 4.75. I had a limited window of opportunity today as we had a pub lunch booked at Levington at one so with a good breeze blowing I arrived at Squix Lane at 8.30 in wall to wall sunshine. I quickly set – up my board and rigged 4.75 which actually proved perfect, I just love small sail foiling:) Being the first of the month I wanted to get a good hour in so was aiming for 8 runs out the mile and a half to the Wadgate Post. I launching I actually waterstarted straight off the beach making it pretty breezy, I was thinking I had rigged too big, especially as the sea was big with large waves rolling past! It was such good fun, just me out in a big sea in the sunshine taking it fairly steady I thought in the challenging conditions but in the end I was pleased with my hour, mile and average, not dropping a gybe:) I was counting the runs out and thought I had made it to my goal of eight runs out so did a really long last one of over two miles, so when I took a dip on the way back misjudging a big wave, I was getting knackered as this my 3rd days sailing I decided to call it a day and headed for shore to call it a day. Peter Deer had just arrived with his son to go winging so, I had packed up by the time Peter was ready to set off, a brave man as it was pretty windy with a big sea and he is fairly new to winging but he was going well. I got home just after 11 which gave me plenty of time to send some pics to the TV weather and get ready for lunch out, a rare thing for us! Walk *** - Levington creek. After a sunny morning on the coast we were surprised by how wet the roads were as we left Trimley, parking at The Ship in Levington we had some light rain, my sister Sharon and Great Aunt Diane were already at the table. We had a lovely meal and catch up chat being there for 2 and a half hours with some heavy rain outside! We said our goodbyes and the sun had made a return so Mag and I decided to go for a walk, past the church and down to the wooden walkway leading to the River Orwell with some cool clouds overhead, just lovely:) It was back along Levington Creek where there was loads of geese and back up the hill to the van and home – top day:) I I had trouble with my gps as it would not recognize the SD card so was a little deflated so did not venture out late to see if the Northern lights were visible!
